Compact Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) for X-Band Shielding

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovations in Science and Technology, 2022
With the increase in the usage of electromagnetic devices, electromagnetic interference increased many folds. Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) provide effective shielding from unwanted frequency ranges. A thin, conformal band-stop FSS is presented in this research that provides effective electromagnetic shielding properties in X-band.

Study of 5.8 GHz Band-Stop Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Integrated Engineering, 2019
This paper presents the study of 5.8 GHz frequency selective surface (FSS) acts as a band stop to eliminate unwanted radiation signal at 5.8GHz. The FSS was designed using computer simulation technology (CST) Microwave Studio software. The paper shows the comparison of square loop, octagon loop and hexagon loop of Band stop FSS (BSFSS) performance at 5.

A frequency selective surface (FSS) based on a reconfigurable MEMS switch for GNSS L1-band

open access: yesMicrosystem Technologies
Abstract This paper presents a tunable Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) for the L1-band of navigation frequencies that utilises a MEMS switch. The reconfigurable frequency-selective electromagnetic filter, achieved by combining hard magnetic materials with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), provides a novel approach to ...

Platinum Group Element Traces of CAMP Volcanism Associated With Low‐Latitude Environmental and Biological Disruptions

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 263-304., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Recovering Suppressed Resonance Frequency by Bias Lines in Reconfigurable FSS

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications, 2021
In reconfigurable frequency selective surface, FSS, bias lines can suppress a resonant frequency. This is a disadvantage, as it reduces a FSS potential application. In this paper, a procedure to recover the suppressed resonant frequency is described.

Modelling of a Polarization Insensitive UWB FSS with Band Stop Response [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2021
This paper presents a compact ultra-wideband frequency selective surface (FSS) with band stop response. The proposed single layer FSS is printed on FR-4 substrate with a unit cell periodicity of 0.138λ_0 × 0.138λ_0, corresponding to its lowest operating ...

Plasma Generator with Dielectric Rim and FSS Electrode for Enhanced RCS Reduction Effect

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this study, a method was experimentally verified for further reducing the radar cross-section (RCS) of a two-dimensional planar target by using a dielectric rim in a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma generator using a frequency selective ...

Switchable Frequency Selective Slot Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A switchable frequency selective surface (FSS) made of square loop slots and PIN diodes connected to a novel separate biasing circuit is presented. The structure uses a very thin, flexible substrate sandwiched between two physically independent metallic ...

Singly and Dual Polarized Convoluted Frequency Selective Structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Convoluting the elements of frequency selective surfaces produces resonating structures with very small unit cell dimensions. This feature is attractive when the FSS is to be used at low frequencies, mounted on a curved surface, or when placed in the ...
