ABR frequency tuning curves in dolphins

Journal of Comparative Physiology A, 1993
Tone-tone masking was used to determine auditory brain-stem response tuning curves in dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in a simultaneous-masking paradigm. The Q10 of the curves was as large as 16-19 in the frequency range 64-128 kHz. In the range 45-16 kHz, Q10 decreased proportionally to the frequency with the bandwidth of the curves being constant ...

Spatial frequency tuning of human stereopsis

Vision Research, 1991
A masking paradigm was employed to measure the spatial frequency selectivity of channels underlying human stereopsis. Observers viewed spatially filtered (0.4 octave bandwidth) random-dot stereograms in which a disparate bar appeared in either the top or bottom half of the display; superimposed on one RDS half-image was a noise target whose spatial ...

Tuning Frequency Dependency in Music Classification

ICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
Deep architectures have become ubiquitous in Music Information Retrieval (MIR) tasks, however, concurrent studies still lack a deep understanding of the input properties being evaluated by the networks. In this study, we show by the example of a Music Genre Classification system the potential dependency on the tuning frequency, an irrelevant and ...

Self-tuning adaptive frequency tracker

Digital Signal Processing, 2014
Abstract An automatic gain tuning algorithm is proposed for a recently introduced adaptive notch filter. Theoretical analysis and simulations show that, under Gaussian random-walk type assumptions, the proposed extension is capable of adjusting adaptation gains of the filter so as to minimize the mean-squared frequency tracking error without prior ...

Frequency-Tuned Universal Adversarial Perturbations

2020
The predictions of a convolutional neural network (CNN) for an image set can be severely altered by one single image-agnostic perturbation, or universal perturbation, even when the perturbation is small to restrict its perceptibility. Such universal perturbations are typically generated and added to an image in the spatial domain.

Frequency Synthesis Tuning Systems With Automatic Offset Tuning

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1978
This paper describes a new closed-loop tuning system utilizing custom large scale integrated circuits to control the selection of the 82 U.S. television channels. The system is designed to minimize hardware but yet support multiple user features. No frequency adjustment or prealignment is needed for operation.

Temporal tuning curves and their relation to frequency tuning curves

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983
Temporal tuning curves for a 1000-Hz, 10-ms, 10-dB SL sinusoidal signal with a 500-, 1000-, or 1500-Hz, 10-ms sinusoidal masker were measured using a 2IFC adaptive procedure. Frequency tuning curves for the 10 dB SL, 1000-Hz signal were also measured for 10- and 500-ms simultaneous maskers. Five normal hearing listeners were employed.

Linear frequency tuning of SAW resonators

Proceedings., IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium, 1991
Frequency tuning in SAW (surface acoustic wave) resonator-stabilized oscillators is normally accomplished via utilization of a voltage-controlled phase shifter. The design of abrupt junction varactor diode-inductor networks which employ impedance transformation techniques to obtain linear frequency tuning of two-port SAW resonators is reported.

Wavelet Transform-Based Frequency Tuning ILC

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2005
In this paper, a discrete wavelet transform-based cutoff frequency tuning method is proposed and experimental investigation is reported. In the method, discrete wavelet packet algorithm, as a time-frequency analysis tool, is employed to decompose the tracking error into different frequency regions so that the maximal error component can be identified ...
