A study of the Dirichlet Priors for term frequency normalisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In Information Retrieval (IR), the Dirichlet Priors have been applied to the smoothing technique of the language modeling approach. In this paper, we apply the Dirichlet Priors to the term frequency normalisation of the classical BM25 probabilistic model

Highly-doped SiC resonator with ultra-large tuning frequency range by Joule heating effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Tuning the natural frequency of a resonator is an innovative approach for the implementation of mechanical resonators in a broad range of fields such as timing applications, filters or sensors.

System-Level Model and Simulation of a Frequency-Tunable Vibration Energy Harvester

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
In this paper, we present a macroscale multiresonant vibration-based energy harvester. The device features frequency tunability through magnetostatic actuation on the resonator. The magnetic tuning scheme uses external magnets on linear stages.

Frequency domain iterative feedforward/feedback tuning for MIMO ANVC

open access: yes, 2010
A new gradient estimation method is proposed that relies on efficient computation of the negative gradient of the average linear quadratic cost function completely in the frequency domain.

Dual Polarized Reconfigurable Frequency Selective Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Novel band-stop active frequency selective surfaces (FSS) capable of modifying their response for different polarizations are proposed. Geometries based on full rings, and split rings are employed.

Tuning Patch-Form FSS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The application of a novel biasing technique to tune frequency selective surfaces (FSS) made of patch elements is described. The methodology follows a recently developed technique where the biasing circuit of an active FSS is etched at the rear of a ...

Tuning-Range Extension Strategies for Varactor-Based Frequency-Reconfigurable Antennas

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2023
Tuning range extension strategies for varactor-based frequency-reconfigurable planar patch antennas are presented. The three tuning range optimization methods described in the paper include co-optimization of antenna dimensions and varactor properties ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
