In this chapter, I will discuss infections acquired in nonmarine environments. Both natural fresh waters (lakes, ponds, rivers, streams) and manmade aquatic environments (swimming pools, hot-tubs, whirlpools, spas) may serve as the origin for numerous pathogenic microorganisms.
