The freshwater Grapsid crabs of Jamaica
Proceedings of the Linnean Society of London, 1964SUMMARY. Four species of grapsid crabs, endemic to Jamaica, spend the whole of their life cycle in fresh water; an account of their biology is given. Metopulias depressus is confined to the water which collects at the base of large tank bromeliads, and is limited to limestone regions above an elevation of about a 1000 ft.

Phylogenomic analyses of brachyuran crabs support early divergence of primary freshwater crabs
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2019Recent fossil calibrated molecular phylogenies have revealed that the Brachyura underwent rapid radiation during the Cretaceous and Early Tertiary, resulting in many early diverging lineages separated by short internodes that remain difficult to resolve.

Sublethal effects of copper on the freshwater crab Potamonautes warreni
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 2002The mass specific rates of oxygen consumption (M (O(2)) M(b)(-1)), ammonia excretion (M (NH(4)-N) M(b)(-1)) and carbon dioxide production (M (CO(2)) M(b)(-1)) were measured after 7, 14 and 21 days exposure of adult Potamonautes warreni to a sublethal concentration of 1.0 mg Cu l(-1) (15.75 micromol l(-1)).

Freshwater Crabs of the Nile System
1976In 1931 Major S. S. Flower brought together the results of 25 years interest in the Crustacea in his ‘Notes on Freshwater Crabs in Egypt, Sinai and the Sudan’ (Proc, Zool. Soc. Lond.). In doing so he expressed the hope that his paper might prove to be of use as a starting point for other workers.

Studies on the locomotor activity of the freshwater crab, Potamon fluviatile
Hydrobiologia, 1988Locomotor activity in the freshwater crab, Potamon fluviatile, was studied both in the field, by direct counts of animals along a stream section, and by means of actographs. General metabolism was evaluated through the analysis of oxygen consumption.

Morphology and function of the copulatory system in freshwater crabs of the genusPotamon
Journal of Morphology, 1999To understand the reproductive processes of freshwater crabs of the genus Potamon, we examined the first and second gonopod and the gonoducts of the female by histological methods. The gonopods are highly modified compared to those of other brachyuran crabs.

Selection of gastropod prey by a tropical freshwater crab
Journal of Zoology, 1990Prey selection by Somaniathelphusa sinensis (Parathelphusidae) among five gastropod species (two prosobranchs, three pulmonates) was associated with two snail attributes. First, the degree of defence of the tissues by the shell, approximated by shell weight (SW)/tissue dry weight (M).

Deltamethrin's Toxicological Impact on Freshwater Crab Barytelphusa cunicularis
UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGYThe present study investigates the toxicological impact of deltamethrin, a widely used synthetic pyrethroid insecticide used in agriculture, specifically targeting the freshwater crab Barytelphusa cunicularis. The research delves into the insecticide’s mechanism of action and acute toxicity on the crab species.
