Assessing the Acute and Chronic Effects of Palladium on Daphnia magna and the Influence of Natural Organic Matter

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent decades, rising industrial demand for palladium (Pd), driven by its unique properties and affordability compared to other noble metals, has increased its environmental release into aquatic systems. This highlights the need to assess its effects on organisms, given the lack of standardized toxicity studies and regulations for this ...

A comprehensive review on the sources, environmental behavior, and degradation of alkylphenol ethoxylates and their metabolites in surface water and soils

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, EarlyView.
Abstract Alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEOs) and their metabolites, widely used in agricultural, industrial, and household products, are known endocrine disruptors. Since the 1980s, many countries have implemented restrictions on their production and use, necessitating an evaluation of these regulations by reviewing their source and environmental behavior ...

Growth but Not Corticosterone, Oxidative Stress, or Telomere Length Is Negatively Affected by Microplastic Exposure in a Filter‐Feeding Amphibian

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) are of increasing global concern for species inhabiting aquatic habitats. However, the mechanisms behind animal responses to MPs still require comprehensive exploration. Amphibians are the most threatened vertebrate group with most species having a complex life cycle, commonly with an aquatic larval stage.
