Responses of freshwater prawn,Macrobrachium rosenbergii, to chemical attractants
Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1987Chemoreception in the adults of the freshwater prawnMacrobrachium rosenbergii was investigated under controlled laboratory conditions, using behavioral assays. Tests were carried out on groups, as well as on individuals, all at their intermolt stages of the molt cycle, and prestarved for three to four days.

Development of giant freshwater prawn broodstock [PDF]
The commercial success of a giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) hatchery depends upon the uninterrupted supply of the desired quantity and quality of broodstock. This study was an attempt to develop the broodstock near a hatchery, to be used for seed production throughout the year. The hatchery produced seed were stocked at the rate of 3/

Gametogenesis in the freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium lamerrii.
Acta physiologica Hungarica, 1984Histological changes of the female and male gonads were studied and their relation to reproductive cycle is described. Ovary showed distinct changes during the course of its reproductive cycle. Maturational changes did not occur simultaneously in all follicles of the ovary.

Intestinal electrophysiology and transmural ion transport in freshwater prawns
American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology, 1980A steady-state transmural potential difference of 1.63 +/- 0.26 mV (mean +/- SE, lumen negative) is recorded across the isolated, perfused intestine of the freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, when saline approximating hemolymph in composition is present on both surfaces of the preparation.

Karyological studies on the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Aquaculture, 1991Abstract A cytogenetic study was conducted in the freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii , by preparing metaphase chromosome spreads from the tissue of the antennal gland and testis. Chromosomal analysis of the antennal gland in males revealed a modal diploid chromosome number of 2n = 118.
