Fresnel Coherent Diffractive Imaging

Physical Review Letters, 2006
We present an x-ray coherent diffractive imaging experiment utilizing a nonplanar incident wave and demonstrate success by reconstructing a nonperiodic gold sample at 24 nm resolution. Favorable effects of the curved beam illumination are identified.

Fresnel diffraction at circular cylinders

International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2022
Fresnel diffraction is a fundamental wave phenomenon happening near the shadow boundary behind a large opaque object. Previously, it was studied for the case of diffraction at large apertures in a black screen. In this paper, we investigate this phenomenon for perfectly conducting cylinders with large cross-sections.

Interference and Fresnel diffraction

IEEE Transactions on Education, 1992
It is shown that a surprising number of traditional topics, such as the Rayleigh resolution criterion, spatial filtering, bandlimited signals, the sampling theorem, phase contrast microscopy, and white light holography, can be explained using simple interference theory.

Fresnel Diffraction

2005
Fresnel diffraction is discussed in terms of a description of waves traveling near the stationary point. That is the point that lies on a line connecting the source and the observation point. We discuss a rectangular aperture using Fresnel integrals or graphicly using the Cornu Spiral We discuss a circular aperture in terms of Fresnel zones and we ...

Achromatic Fresnel diffraction patterns

Optics Communications, 1993
Abstract A novel method for obtaining a single, but arbitrary, achromatic Fresnel diffraction pattern of any pupil with broadband parallel illumination is presented. The optical device simply consists of an achromatic objective and an on-axis zone plate.

Collimation testing using slit Fresnel diffraction

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2018
A simple collimation testing method based on slit Fresnel diffraction is proposed. The method needs only a CMOS and a slit with no requirement in dimensional accuracy. The light beam to be tested diffracts across the slit and forms a Fresnel diffraction pattern received by CMOS. After analysis, the defocusing amount and the distance between the primary
