Signal‐to‐noise and spatial resolution in in‐line imaging. 3. Optimization using a simple model
Geometrical magnification and X‐ray energy are optimized with respect to spatial resolution, contrast, noise, radiation dose and other image quality characteristics. The optimization is performed using a simple theoretical model of a homogeneous edge feature embedded in a bulk uniform sample, and the resulting generic analytical expressions for image ...

Linear dichroic X‐ray tomography is a technique in which the linear dichroism of anisotropic materials is used to image crystal orientation in three dimensions. We show that the reconstruction of tomograms is subject to errors due to the change in polarization on propagation through the material and propose strategies for mitigating these effects ...

Defocused illumination with beam‐shaping condenser for uniform wide‐field X‐ray imaging
A defocused illumination method based on a beam‐shaping condenser to suppress fringe artifacts arising from rectangular aperture diffraction and sub‐grating interference is developed, providing an effective and practical approach for achieving wide‐field and uniform illumination in X‐ray microscopy. The beam‐shaping condenser (BSC) has become a key ...

Fraunhofer approximation of Fresnel integrals
Abstract A method to derive the Fraunhofer diffraction integral by making use of the theory of distributions is presented. With respect to standard textbooks, the pedagogical benefit of this method is that it uniquely uses the far-field approximation of the Fresnel diffraction integral.

Revisiting PSF models: Unifying framework and high‐performance implementation
Abstract Localisation microscopy often relies on detailed models of point‐spread functions. For applications such as deconvolution or PSF engineering, accurate models for light propagation in imaging systems with a high numerical aperture are required. Different models have been proposed based on 2D Fourier transforms or 1D Bessel integrals.

Highly Selective Toward HER or CO2RR by Regulating Cu Single and Dual Atoms on g‐C3N4
This systematic study provides insights into the design of electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and carbon dioxide reduction (CO2RR). It serves as a useful guide for tuning catalyst architecture toward efficient multifunctional performance by varying synthetic parameters, demonstrating the impact of copper (Cu) species ranging from ...
