Fresnel Integral Computation Techniques [PDF]

open access: green, 2020
This work is an extension of previous work by Alazah et al. [M. Alazah, S. N. Chandler-Wilde, and S. La Porte, Numerische Mathematik, 128(4):635-661, 2014]. We split the computation of the Fresnel Integrals into 3 cases: a truncated Taylor series, modified trapezoid rule and an asymptotic expansion for small, medium and large arguments respectively ...

Equivalent functions for the Fresnel integral

open access: goldOptics Express, 2005
Fresnel integral is modeled with three equivalent functions. The first function is derived by considering the sum of the first term of the Fresnel integral's asymptotic expansion {F(x)} and an exponential function which approaches to infinity at the zero of the Fresnel function's argument and has the properties of a unit step function.

Chebyshev Approximations for the Fresnel Integrals [PDF]

open access: bronzeMathematics of Computation, 1968
Rational Chebyshev approimations have been computed for the Fresnel integrals C ( x ) C(x) and S ( x ) S(x) for arguments in the intervals [ 0. , 1.2 ] [0.,1.2] and [ 1.2 ,

Rational approximations for the Fresnel integrals [PDF]

open access: bronzeMathematics of Computation, 1985
A class of simple rational polynomial approximations for the Fresnel integrals is given with maximum errors from 1.7 × 10 − 3 1.7 \times {10^{ - 3}} down to 4 × 10

Validation of Fresnel–Kirchhoff Integral Method for the Study of Volume Dielectric Bodies

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In this work, we test a nondestructive optical method based on the Fresnel–Kirchhoff integral, which could be applied to different fields of engineering, such as detection of small cracks in structures, determination of dimensions for small components ...

Propagation Properties of an Astigmatic Cos-Gaussian Beam through Turbulent Atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
We use the extended Huygens-Fresnel integral to investigate the propagation properties of a cos-Gaussian beam (cosGB) with astigmatism in atmospheric turbulence.

Numerical Investigation of Diffraction Patterns of Small Size Apertures Using Light Sources From Xuv to The Visible Region: Simulation for The Small Size Structures

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2023
In the present work, a computer simulation program generates Fresnel diffraction patterns from small-size apertures using illumination wavelengths from extreme ultraviolet (XUV) to the visible region suggesting that it can be used to model a wide range ...
