Laser‐Welded Cellulose‐Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites as a 3D Scaffold of Si Anodes for High‐Performance Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Si anode comprising entangled networks of cellulose and SWCNT (C‐CNT) nanocomposites as an anode electrode for a high‐performance LIB is realized by fully utilizing the generated microstructure of a novel conductive 3D scaffold via a low‐temperature and eco‐friendly process. Additionally, localized heating via photo‐thermal conversion can be utilized

Theoretical and experimental study of the transport of granular materials by inclined vibratory conveyors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
A theoretical and experimental study was made of the conveying speed with which granular materials are transported by vibratory conveyors. The basic assumption made is that the layer of granular material can be considered as a point mass.

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Origin of power laws for reactions at metal surfaces mediated by hot electrons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A wide range of experiments have established that certain chemical reactions at metal surfaces can be driven by multiple hot electron mediated excitations of adsorbates.

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.
