On the experimental analysis of single input single output control of yaw rate and sideslip angle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Electric vehicles with individually controlled drivetrains allow torque-vectoring, which improves vehicle safety and drivability. This paper investigates a new approach to the concurrent control of yaw rate and sideslip angle.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Machining performance of vegetable oil with phosphonium- and ammonium-based ionic liquids via MQL technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Thermo-mechanical loads are the main factor that influences the tool wear and product surfaces during machining processes. Lubrication in metal cutting is an effective medium to reduce frictional forces and wear on the tool-workpiece interfaces.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

GCL-LLDPE geomembrane interface friction angle evaluation and stability analysis of a valley fill leach pad project [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The Los Chancas mining project, initiated in 1998, is a copper mine focused on extracting copper sulfides and oxides. In 2020, a mine plan update required a review of the constructability design and an evaluation of the Permanent Leach Pad and Filtered ...

Research of a fibrous layer at refining in the refiners [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A subject of research-a fibrous layer in the refiners at refining. By means of the tension compression chart it is shown that parameters of a fibrous layer are adequately described by Maxwell-Thompson's model for liquid friction and the Hooke model for ...

Landslide motion assessment including rate effects and thermal interactions: revisiting the Canelles landslide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The re-activation of a large (40 Mm3) landslide on the valley slopes of a reservoir motivated a research initiative to estimate the risk of a fast-sliding mass moving into the reservoir.

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...
