Comparative Braking Performance Evaluation of a Commercial and Non-asbestos, Cu-free, Carbonized Friction Composites

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2021
Carbonization treatment contributes to improvement of tribological properties of friction composites. Pure Non-asbestos organic (NAO) friction raw materials were selected, friction composite specimens had been made using a new mixing process and ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Interference effect on friction behavior of asperities on single crystal copper

open access: yes, 2014
By using Green function molecular dynamics method, we systematically study the friction behavior of a single asperity and asperity array over the (1 1 1) surface of single crystal copper.

Analysis of Wear Behavior Between Tire Rubber and Silicone Rubber

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Vulcanized NR-SBR is widely used in vehicle components; however, its irreversible crosslinking limits recyclability and contributes to the large number of tires discarded annually worldwide, and in this context, this work presents an experimental ...

Study on the Nano-Friction Behavior of Nickel-Based Ag Film Composites Based on Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
The nano-friction behavior of nickel-based Ag film composites was evaluated using molecular dynamics simulations. The mechanical properties, the surface morphology, the migration behavior of Ag atoms and the defect evolution during repeated friction were

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Multiscale study of the dynamic friction coefficient due to asperity plowing

open access: yes, 2020
A macroscopically nominal flat surface is rough at the nanoscale level and consists of nanoasperities. Therefore, the frictional properties of the macroscale-level rough surface are determined by the mechanical behaviors of nanoasperity contact pairs ...

Internal friction investigation of phase transformation in nearly stoichiometric LaMnO3+δ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Rhombohedral LaMnO3+δ powders, prepared by two different soft chemistry routes (co-precipitation and hydrothermal synthesis), are sintered at 1400 °C for 2 h in air. Measurements of internal friction Q−1(T) and shear modulus G(T), at low frequencies from

Friction and Deformation Behavior of Elastomers

open access: yesMaterials Sciences and Applications, 2019
This research paper is about investigating the mechanisms of elastomeric friction at low velocities. To do so, different experimental setups were performed to analyze friction, adhesion and surface energy among others. The tested materials were EPDM samples with variations in the carbon black content. It was found, that at least for low velocities, the

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
