Behavior of Sand Particles in Sand-Steel Friction
ABSTRACT This paper describes a method for observing the particle behavior near the interface in sand-steel friction tests. A friction testing apparatus was modified to allow the observation of sand particles. Close-up photographs were taken of the sand particles at specified timing in sand-steel friction tests.

Validation of Friction Model Parameters Identified Using the IHB Method Using Finite Element Method
A hybrid friction model was recently developed by Azizian and Mureithi (2013) to simulate the friction behavior of tube-support interaction. However, identification and validation of the model parameters remains unresolved. In previous work, the friction

Tribocorrosion behavior of Al-based amorphous coatings prepared by different spraying methods
The correlation between the wear behavior of three types of Al-based amorphous coatings prepared by low-temperature high-velocity oxygen fuel (LT-HVOF), high-velocity air fuel (HVAF) and cold spraying (CS), and the corrosion behavior of the coatings has ...

Development of a friction model for the numerical simulation of clinching processes
In numerical simulations of mechanical joining processes, such as clinching, modeling of material behavior is of decisive importance. In addition to the correct representation of plasticity and damage mechanisms, this primarily includes modeling of the ...

Research progress on external friction coefficient test of powders
The external friction behavior between the interface and powders is affected by the properties of the powders, the surface roughness of dies, the relative motion speed, temperature, and pressure. Unreasonable external friction behavior may cause the wear
