Testing of a Stand for Analysis of Drilling Mud Friction Factor [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2006
A concept and realization of a universal laboratory stand for analyzing hydromechanical effects accompanying the drilling mud flow are presented in the paper. Requirements for basic technical subassemblies of the stand are defined.

3D Simulation on turbulent flow and heat transfer behaviors in a five-start corrugated tube: Effect of depth ratio and tube modification

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2021
This paper presents a 3D simulation of turbulent flow and heat transfer behaviors in a five-start corrugated tube having depth ratios, DR = 0.02-0.16 and constant pitch ratio, PR = 1.0 0 and the Reynold number ranging from 5000 to 20,000.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Wave Boundary Layers and Friction Factors

open access: yesCoastal Engineering 1966, 1966
In the last two decades the problem of wave height damping due to bottom friction has received increasing attention among near-shore oceanographers. This fact is reflected in the wealth of papers on the subject; the list of references given herein presents a minor selection only.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Experimental Studies of Fluid Flow Resistance in a Heat Exchanger Based on the Triply Periodic Minimal Surface

open access: yesEnergies
This study describes experimental data on 3D-printed compact heat exchangers. The heat exchanger is a prototype designed and manufactured additively using 3D printing in metal—AISI 316L steel.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Thermofluids analysis of four novel anchor-shaped turbulator and eco-friendly nanofluid (GAGNPs /H2O) in a parabolic trough solar collector: A CFD modeling approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
In this paper, four new turbulator models are implemented inside the absorber tube of the Parabolic Trough Solar Collector (PTSC) in a linear arrangement (anchored shape) to regulate and standardize its surface temperature.
