New in the hydraulics of channels with permeable walls: indicator of the relative value of the dissipation

open access: yesВесці Нацыянальнай акадэміі навук Беларусі: Серыя фізіка-тэхнічных навук
The factors that have led to the creation of the scientific direction “hydraulics of variable mass” to study the fluid movement laws in channels with permeable walls are indicated.

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Crack-Like Processes Governing the Onset of Frictional Slip

open access: yes, 2006
We perform real-time measurements of the net contact area between two blocks of like material at the onset of frictional slip. We show that the process of interface detachment, which immediately precedes the inception of frictional sliding, is governed ...

Md-Simulation of Fullerene Rotations in Molecular Crystal Fullerite

open access: yesCrystals, 2019
The present paper describes rotations of C60 fullerene molecules in the solid phase of a fullerite. The conducted studies show that these relatively large molecules rotate according to the same laws as macroscopic bodies, i.e., according to the laws of ...

‘Oxygen Bound to Magnesium’ as High Voltage Redox Center Causes Sloping of the Potential Profile in Mg‐Doped Layered Oxides for Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Na‐ion batteries ‐ Impact of doping on the oxygen redox: The sloping potential of NaMg0.1Ni0.4Mn0.5O2 above 4.0 V is caused by a new redox center (arising from the ‘O bound to Mg’), having a higher potential but being more irreversible compared to the ‘O bound to Ni’.

Substantiating the mechanisms of electronic and phonon friction in the conjugation of materials of samples (parts) by the methods of solid state physics

open access: yesProblems of Tribology
The article elucidates the essence of the mechanisms of electronic and phonon friction in the coupling of samples (parts) using the methods of solid state physics. It is shown that in the triboconjugation of samples made of metallic materials, the flow of fluctuation-electromagnetic and electron-phonon processes should be distinguished ...

Energy‐Efficient Bulk Photoalignment of Main‐Chain Liquid Crystalline Polymers Enabled by In Situ Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ monitoring of bulk photoalignment reveals how molecular weight, azobenzene content, cooling rate, and thickness govern ordering in main‐chain liquid crystalline polymers. Optimized copolymers exceed conventional thickness limits, maintaining stable alignment up to 130 µm with high energy efficiency and reversible optical patterning.

Model coupling friction and adhesion for steel-concrete interfaces

open access: yes, 2009
The interface behaviour between steel and concrete, during pull-out tests, is numerically investigated using an interface model coupling adhesion and Coulomb friction. This model, first developed by Raous, Cang\'emi, Cocou and Monerie (RCCM), is based on
