Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Model of contact friction based on extreme value statistics
We propose a model based on extreme value statistics (EVS) and combine it with different models for single-asperity contact, including adhesive and elasto-plastic contacts, to derive a relation between the applied load and the friction force on a rough ...

Unsteady 3D-Navier-Stokes System with Tresca's Friction Law
Motivated by extrusion problems, we consider a non-stationary incompress-ible 3D fluid flow with a non-constant (temperature dependent) viscosity, subjected to mixed boundary conditions with a given time dependent velocity on a part of the boundary and ...

Adaptive Twisting Metamaterials
This work introduces torque‐controlled twisting metamaterials as a transformative platform for adaptive crashworthiness. By combining multiscale predictive modeling with experimental validation on additively manufactured gyroids, it demonstrates tunable stiffness, collapse stress, and energy absorption.

NEW EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS ON THE DIETERICH-RUINA FRICTION LAW
The Dieterich-Ruina friction law is widely used in rock friction and earthquake dynamical contexts. It has proven very powerful and versatile over the last decades, being able to reproduce stick-slip as well as fore- and aftershocks and healing of faults.

Breaking the 2‐nm Barrier in Hard Disk Drives Using Monolayer Amorphous Carbon Overcoats
The rapid growth of AI has increased demand for large‐scale data storage, making HDDs indispensable in data centers. Increasing areal storage density is crucial, but limited by the traditional carbon overcoats (COC). Monolayer amorphous carbon (MAC) offers a superior alternative.

Non-equilibrium thermodynamics beyond linearity: sliding friction
Nevertheless, sliding friction is frequent and it was the first irreversible process we were faced in the school, very rare effort has been aimed to develop its non-equilibrium thermodynamic theory if ever. The reason may be guessed as Coulomb’s (Amonton’

Effect of Neutral Salt Spray Corrosion on the Tribological Performance of MoS2 Coatings for Bolts [PDF]
The composite treatment of MoS2 coating and anodic oxidation is widely applied to the surface lubrication of fasteners such as bolts. However, its evolution law of lubrication performance under corrosion and high-humidity conditions in coastal ...

A 2-D asymmetric exclusion model for granular flows
A 2-D version of the asymmetric exclusion model for granular sheared flows is presented. The velocity profile exhibits two qualitatively different behaviors, dependent on control parameters.
