Modelling of Dry Friction

2004
Dry friction plays an important role in the dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems. Mechanical systems can come to rest in a finite time due to the presence of dry friction. Moreover, dry friction is also responsible for stick-slip vibrations, which occur for instance in brakes, wheel-rail contact and bowed instruments such as violins.

Mathematical Model of Friction

Key Engineering Materials
The article deals with the creation of a mathematical model that can be applied in the testing of various materials. These are testing cases where the measurement and subsequent evaluation of the value of the coefficient of friction in various tribological measurements is considered.

Friction Compensation Based on Reset-Integrator Friction Model

2001
This paper focuses on friction compensation based on simple dynamical ‘reset-integrator’ friction model. Due to its simplicity, it is numerically efficient and therefore desirable for implementation in control algorithms. Main topic of this paper is the proposed method for identification of friction model parameters.
