Role of friction-induced torque in stick-slip motion [PDF]
We present a minimal quasistatic 1D model describing the kinematics of the transition from static friction to stick-slip motion of a linear elastic block on a rigid plane.

Simulation of Friction Torque in First Phase of Friction Welding.
The authors have clarified the joining mechanism of the first phase of friction stage during friction welding process for similar materials. The present paper describes the simulated friction torque in the first phase during friction stage for joining of mild steels.

Coupling between static friction force and torque for a tripod
If a body is resting on a flat surface, the maximal static friction force before motion sets in is reduced if an external torque is also applied. The coupling between the static friction force and static friction torque is nontrivial as our studies for a

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Analysis and Suppression Method of Drag Torque in Wide-Speed No-Load Wet Clutch
Under no-load conditions, the wet clutch of vehicles generates drag torque across a wide speed range, which increases power loss in the transmission system and significantly impacts its efficiency and reliability.
