A Reproducible and Scalable Process for High Yield Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Extracellular Vesicles Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stem cell derived extracellular vesicles (MSC‐EVs) are a promising therapeutic tool for regenerative medicine. However, the field lacks a reproducible high‐yield production method to answer the quantities needed for clinical translation.

Measuring Indicators of the Humanistic Approach in Planning New Neighborhoods of Tabriz (Case Study: Yaghchian Neighborhood) [PDF]

open access: yesجغرافیای اجتماعی شهری, 2017
Smaller units of towns (neighborhoods) are like vibrant organisms that are in the background of many changes. It is evident that these changes create instability in the neighborhoods.

Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

The Challenge of Handling Structured Missingness in Integrated Data Sources

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
As data integration becomes ever more prevalent, a new research question that emerges is how to handle missing values that will inevitably arise in these large‐scale integrated databases? This missingness can be described as structured missingness, encompassing scenarios involving multivariate missingness mechanisms and deterministic, nonrandom ...

Moth flame optimization to solve optimal power flow with non-parametric statistical evaluation validation

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2017
This article demonstrates an appositeness of a novel metaheuristic optimization algorithm viz. the moth flame optimization (MFO) to solve various non-convex, non-linear optimum power flow (OPF) objective functions.

Mining stochastic cellular automata to solve density classification task in two dimensions

open access: yesDyna, 2020
Density Classification Task (DCT) is a well-known problem that researchers have been tackling for more than two decades, where the main goal is to build a cellular automaton whose local rule gives rise to emergent global coordination.

The Quantity Theory of Money is Valid. The New Keynesians are Wrong! [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We test the quantity theory of money (QTM) using a novel approach and a large new sample. We do not follow the usual approach of first differentiating the logarithm of the Cambridge equation to obtain an equation relating the growth rate of real GDP, the

Food insecurity and unemployment among immigrants in the United States

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Immigrants can be more vulnerable to economic downturns and, during periods of economic hardship, more likely to experience food insecurity compared to natives. This study examines the differential effect of the unemployment rate on the probability of being food insecure among diverse groups of immigrant households relative to natives in the ...
