Robust Fringe Projection Profilometry via Sparse Representation
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2016In this paper, a robust fringe projection profilometry (FPP) algorithm using the sparse dictionary learning and sparse coding techniques is proposed. When reconstructing the 3D model of objects, traditional FPP systems often fail to perform if the captured fringe images have a complex scene, such as having multiple and occluded objects.

Fringe projection profilometry with phase-coded optics
Optical Metrology and Inspection for Industrial Applications VIII, 2021Fringe projection profilometry (FPP) is a commonly used tool in the three-dimensional (3D) measurement of diffuse objects in reverse engineering, products online detection, medical diagnosis, etc. However, due to the limited depth-of-field (DOF) of projection-imaging lenses, the contrast of captured sinusoidal fringes will decrease with the increase ...

Fringe contrast-based 3D profilometry using fringe projection
Optik, 2005Quality-guided algorithm is a widely used method in phase unwrapping. This paper shows an accurate quality map based on fringe contrast for 3D shape measurement. Phase-shifted fringe patterns are projected onto an object surface by a programmable liquid crystal projector and recorded by a CCD camera.

Profilometry by fringe projection
Optical Engineering, 2003We present a method to obtain profilometry of a suitable ob- ject by fringe projection. The method is appropriate to the case of large objects as compared to the distance from the illuminating source, that is, a nonconstant equivalent wavelength. We develop an experiment to lat- erally displace a set of fringes on a sphere and obtain quantitative re ...

Projected fringe profilometry for metal surfaces
SPIE Proceedings, 2015ABSTRACT A non-scanning method to describe the 3D profile of a metal surface is proposed. A fringe pa ttern is posited in front of the metal surface. A virtual image of the fringe pattern is formed behind the metal surface. Fringes on the virtual image are deformed by topography of th e metal object. Thus, phase of the deformed frin ges is desirable to

Abstract Phase sensitivity plays a vital role in accurately retrieving three-dimensional (3D) shape of diffused objects in fringe projection profilometry (FPP). With regard to traditional means that simply project horizontal or vertical fringe patterns, the fringe frequency and direction may not be the best choice to acquire optimal sensitivity to ...

Deformation measurements using projected fringe profilometry
SPIE Proceedings, 2012An approach using fringe projection to perform the deformation measurement is proposed. A fringe pattern is illuminated onto the dynamic object, and a CCD camera is employed to record the fringe distribution. For a sufficient long recording time, fringes on the obtained image are deformed by the topography of the object, and also, blurred by motion.

Image enhancement for fringe projection profilometry
2013 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS2013), 2013The fringe projection profilometry (FPP) is a popular approach for acquiring high-fidelity 3D model of objects. In the FPP, parallel fringe patterns are projected onto an object, and the deformed fringe as shown on the object surface is captured by a camera for 3D reconstruction. Due to the imperfection of imaging devices and operating environment, the

Fringe projection profilometry based on complementary color-encoded fringe patterns
Optics & Laser Technology, 2012Abstract 3D measurement techniques based on color-encoded fringe pattern projection have been widely used in various fields of engineering recently. There is one problem that the surface color of measured object may interfere with the color of projected fringe pattern.
