Thermal cycle stability of glass-to-metal seals with glass preforms produced via powder-metallurgy and casting-machining methods

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
In order to evaluate the influence of preform preparation processes on thermal cycle stability of glass-to-metal seals, this work embraced two different methods to produce the preform for seals.

Influencia de la molienda en la energía superficial de fritas para esmaltes

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2013
In this work has been studied the influence of the milling process of two ceramic frits used in the ceramic tile industry. Both glass frits were of similar chemical composition changing SiO2 by 5% of B2O3 and both of them were water or dry milled.

Membrance interface evaluations for underwater mass spectrometers. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A component that has enabled the development of underwater mass spectrometry is a mechanically supported membrane interface probe. Our two research groups have used metallic porous frits that support polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) membranes embedded in ...

Breaks, cuts, and patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Wegeneralize the concept of a break by considering pairs of arbitrary rounds.Weshow that a set of homeaway patterns minimizing the number of generalized breaks cannot be found in polynomial time, unless P = NP. When all teams have the same break set, the

Using Long‐Chain Polymechanophores to Explore the Differences in Mechanoactivation During Nozzle Flow and Ultrasonication

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flow through a nozzle is a common component of most fluid‐based polymer processing techniques such as spray drying, inkjet printing, extrusion. An ultrahigh molecular weight multi‐mechanophore system is used to probe the differences in the distribution of mechanical activation observed between nozzle flow and ultrasonication; the gold standard ...

Zinc‐Containing Bioactive Glass Programs Macrophage Polarization through Extracellular Traps Regulation for Enhanced Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐containing bioactive glass (ZnBG) promotes diabetic wound healing by regulating macrophage extracellular traps (METs). Specifically, ZnBG reduces oxidative stress and inhibits the PAD4 and NLRP3/caspase‐1/GSDMD signaling pathways, thereby suppressing MET formation.
