Final Analysis of the Phase 1/2 Trial of Valoctocogene Roxaparvovec for Severe Haemophilia A

open access: yesHaemophilia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Valoctocogene roxaparvovec is an adeno‐associated virus vector serotype 5 (AAV5)‐mediated gene therapy for severe haemophilia A (HA). Aim Report the final safety and efficacy results of the phase 1/2 trial of valoctocogene roxaparvovec. Methods An open‐label phase 1/2 trial (NCT02576795) enrolled adult males with severe HA (factor

Exploring drivers and costs of partial trans‐Saharan migration in juvenile vultures

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Partial migration occurs when only a subset of individuals within a population undertakes a migratory journey. The decision to migrate can be influenced by intrinsic traits (e.g. sex or physical condition) as well as by extrinsic factors (e.g. social environment or resource availability).

One‐ and Two‐Dimensional Polymorphism in a Hydrogen‐Bonding Bis‐Ureido‐Squaramide

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 19, 4 May 2026.
A bis‐ureido‐squaramide (USq) is reported to exhibit supramolecular polymorphism driven by hydrogen bonding and π‐stacking interactions. In chloroform solution, the compound exists as a folded monomer that converts into a 2D supramolecular polymer upon increasing concentration.

The first near infrared detection of XTE J1118+480 in quiescence

open access: yes, 2005
We report the first quiescent detection of KV UMa, the optical counterpart of XTE J1118+480 at near infrared. The observed magnitudes and colours are consistent with a K7-M0 V star, at the distance 1.4 +/- 0.2 kpc.

Palaces for a New Spain Nobility: Between Creole Identity and Academicism

open access: yesSociology Lens, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 75-86, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Mexico City and Havana had a significant number of noble palaces during the eighteenth century. Until now, the dearth of historical documentation on their construction has hampered any approximation, requiring other methodologies. Here, it is intended to establish how a new visual code was defined, consistent both with their local style and ...

La «Frontera Sur». Il confine dimenticato

open access: yesDiacronie.

Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in bulk and thin-film CuMnAs for antiferromagnetic memory applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
CuMnAs with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is proposed as an active material for antiferromagnetic memory. Information can be stored in the antiferromagnetic domain state, while writing and readout can rely on the existence of the surface ...

Spaceflight and sport science: Physiological monitoring and countermeasures for the astronaut–athlete on Mars exploration missions

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Long‐duration spaceflight impacts essentially every system in the human body, resulting in multisystem deconditioning that might impair the health and performance of crewmembers, particularly on long‐duration exploration missions to Mars. In this review, we apply the sport science model of athlete monitoring, testing and training to astronauts;

Mitophagy in skeletal muscle: Impact of ageing, exercise and disuse

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Skeletal muscle plays an important role in whole‐body health, quality of life and regulation of metabolism. The maintenance of a healthy mitochondrial pool is imperative for the preservation of skeletal muscle quality and is mediated through mitochondrial quality control consisting of mitochondrial turnover mediated by a balance between ...
