Joint Weighted Dynamic Resources Optimisation in Green Open Radio Access Network

open access: yesIET Networks, Volume 14, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper presents an optimisation framework for the off‐grid green open radio access network architecture using renewable energy, aiming to optimise power and bandwidth allocation, ensure high data rates and improve service quality, considering factors like power consumption and maintenance cost. ABSTRACT The rapid growth of interconnected devices and

Quantum teleportation in higher dimension and entanglement distribution via quantum switches

open access: yesIET Quantum Communication, Volume 6, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper presents a novel theoretical framework for transmitting classical information through entanglement distribution of qudits over two quantum channels in a superposition of causal orders. The authors introduce the first quantum switch operation for 2‐qudit systems and a theoretical model for qudit entanglement distribution via a quantum switch.

Adaptive power management for multiaccess edge computing‐based 6G‐inspired massive Internet of Things

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper proposes a containerised edge computing model for power optimisation in 6G‐inspired massive Internet‐of‐Things applications. The problem is formulated as a central processing unit energy consumption cost function based on quasi‐finite system observations. Results show that the model performs better compared to a competitive baseline algorithm.

Fronthaul-Constrained Distributed Radar Sensing

open access: yes2024 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps)
In this paper, we study a network of distributed radar sensors that collaboratively perform sensing tasks by transmitting their quantized radar signals over capacity-constrained fronthaul links to a central unit for joint processing. We consider per-antenna and per-radar vector quantization and fronthaul links with dedicated resources as well as shared

Flexible Mobile Fronthaul with Coherent UDWDM-PON

open access: yes2018 20th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2018
Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (UDWDM) has been proposed for future Passive Optical Networks (PONs) to support the increase of access traffic, furnishing an improved capacity while introducing point-to-point logical connections with the Wavelength-To-The-User (WTTU) concept, enabled by low cost coherent transceivers with high sensitivity.

Joint Uplink-Downlink Fronthaul Bit Allocation in Fronthaul-Limited Massive MU-MIMO Systems

open access: yesCoRR
This paper optimizes the fronthaul bit allocation in massive multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems operating with limited-capacity fronthaul links. We consider an advanced antenna system (AAS) controlled by a centralized baseband unit (BBU).

Z-PRISM: Intelligent and Proactive Slice Resizing for Fast Adaptation in 6G Zero-Touch Networks

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Managing fronthaul slices in 6G networks requires not only proactive bandwidth provisioning but also rapid adaptation to sudden and unpredictable traffic fluctuations.
