Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Debris/ice/TPS assessment and photographic analysis for Shuttle Mission STS-42 [PDF]

open access: yes
A Debris/Ice/TPS (Thermal Protection System) assessment and photographic analysis was conducted for Shuttle Mission STS-42. Debris inspection of the flight elements and launch pad were performed before and after launch.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Freeze-thaw durability of recycled concrete from construction and demolition wastes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Road engineering is one of the most accepted applications for concrete including recycled aggregates from construction and demolition wastes as a partial replacement of the natural coarse aggregates.

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...
