Enhanced Multi-Branch Spatio-Temporal Fusion with PCA-GRU for Flotation Froth Image Sequence Classification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems
Effective monitoring of industrial flotation circuits is critical in mineral processing, as it directly affects separation quality and operational costs. Current manual methods, which rely on visual inspection, are inconsistent and subjective, leading to

Synchrotron X-ray imaging study on the mechanism of solids transfer to bitumen froth during oil sands flotation 1: True flotation

open access: yesCleaner Engineering and Technology
Unwanted mineral solids in bitumen froth can lead to increased solvent usage and higher hydrocarbon loss in downstream processing, negatively impacting the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of synthetic crude oil production.

Posibility for application of froth separation process in beneficiation of raw minerals [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2005
Froth separation belongs to newer flotation methods that are suitable for the separation of fine-grained raw materials whose size is too big for regular flotation.

Recovery of Residual Carbon from Ti-Extraction Blast Furnace Slag by Flotation with Simultaneous Dechlorination

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Ti-extraction blast furnace slag (EBFS) is a secondary slag produced by titanium extraction of titanium-bearing blast furnace slag (TBBFS), which is challenging to be used directly because of its residual carbon and chlorine.

Scaling of Planar Sodium‐Nickel Chloride Battery Cells to 90 cm2 Active Area

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Large planar Na β′′ alumina electrolytes are prepared by tape‐casting and die‐pressing. These ceramic electrolytes are used to prepare planar sodium‐nickel chloride cells with 90 cm2 active area, providing a high capacity of 7 Ah. Successful cell cycling is demonstrated at 300 °C at rates up to C/4 (20 mA cm−2) for a cumulative capacity of 3.6 Ah cm−2.

Emerging research directions in nanoparticle‐based foam control for bioprocessing: a bibliometric approach

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Overfoaming remains a critical challenge in industrial bioprocesses, compromising mass transfer, operational stability, and downstream efficiency in bioreactors and wastewater treatment systems. This study provides a bibliometric and scientometric assessment of nanoparticle‐enabled foam control to map technological trends and identify research

Dynamic froth stability of copper flotation tailings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, dynamic froth stability is used for the first time to investigate the flotation behaviour of copper tailings. Reprocessing of material from tailings dams is not only environmentally desirable, but also increasingly economically feasible as ...

Waders in a sea of debris: a global overview

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The impact of plastic pollution on ecosystems and marine fauna is well documented, although research into its effects on waders (also known as shorebirds) remains limited. Given that waders are exposed to coastal marine litter, this exposure could be a significant factor in the decline of their populations. This study aims to assess the global
