Shear capacity of FRP-strengthened RC beams: FRP debonding
Construction and Building Materials, 2003Abstract Many studies have been undertaken on shear strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) beams by externally bonding fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. These studies have established clearly that such strengthened beams fail in shear mainly in one of two modes: FRP rupture; and FRP debonding, and have led to preliminary design proposals.

This chapter provides an overview on the state-of-the-art in prestressing systems for the structural retrofitting of reinforced concrete (RC) structures using Externally Bonded (EB) Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP). Focus is put on flexural strengthening, which currently is the most common application field for composite materials in structural ...

A uniaxial model for concrete confined with fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP), but also with steel jackets or conventional transverse reinforcement, is presented. The model, which is suitable to be inserted into fiber-type beam-column models, explicitly accounts for the continuous interaction with the confining device due to the lateral strain of ...

The article introduced how FRP material first time has been used in a permanent gate house project, including the conception of FRP as structural envelope, the integrated characteristics of FRP with insulation, waterproof, structure, decoration in one board, the introduction to the processes of prefabricating and assembling.

FRP-strengthened RC slabs anchored with FRP anchors
Engineering Structures, 2011Abstract An abundance of tests over the last two decades has shown the bending capacity of flexural members such as reinforced concrete (RC) beams and slabs to be enhanced by the bonding of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites to their tension face. The propensity of the FRP to debond, however, limits its effectiveness.

Modelling of FRP-concrete bonded interfaces containing FRP anchors
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Anchors made from fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites can be used to delay the propagation of debonding cracks and enhance the deformability of FRP-to-concrete bonded interfaces. This paper presents a model for FRP anchors that is calibrated from tests on FRP-to-concrete joints anchored with FRP anchors.
