FRP-to-concrete joint assemblages anchored with multiple FRP anchors
Composite Structures, 2012Abstract Mechanical anchorage can enhance the strain capacity of externally bonded fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite plates which are used for the strengthening of concrete members. Anchors made from FRP, which are known as FRP anchors or spike anchors, are an effective anchorage because they can be applied to a wide variety of FRP ...

The acceptance that fibre reinforced polymers (FRPs) have so far gained for new structures is not in proportion to their potential, because their short-term costs are usually higher than those for structures with conventional materials. Designers and owners have usually justified the use of FRPs in new structures on the basis of life-cycle costing. The

Abstract Fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) equipment is fabricated by applying layers to build up the required thickness. Due to time and exothermic constraints, thickness may need to be built up in thinner increments with the first increment being allowed to cure before the next increment is applied.

Modelling of FRP-concrete bonded interfaces containing FRP anchors
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Anchors made from fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites can be used to delay the propagation of debonding cracks and enhance the deformability of FRP-to-concrete bonded interfaces. This paper presents a model for FRP anchors that is calibrated from tests on FRP-to-concrete joints anchored with FRP anchors.

Failure Criteria for FRP Laminates
Journal of Composite Materials, 2005A new set of six phenomenological failure criteria for fiber-reinforced polymer laminates denoted LaRC03 is described. These criteria can predict matrix and fiber failure accurately, without the curve-fitting parameters. For matrix failure under transverse compression, the angle of the fracture plane is solved by maximizing the Mohr-Coulomb effective ...

FRP rupture strains in FRP wrapped columns
2012Applying lateral confinement to concrete columns using fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites is a very promising technique. FRP rupture is the typical failure mode of FRP wrapped columns under axial compression. numerous experiments have shown that the FRP rupture strain in an FRP wrapped circular column is significantly lower than the FRP ultimate
