Longkong fruit abscission and its control
Postharvest Biology and Technology, 2012Abstract Longkong fruit abscission was found to be sensitive to external ethylene at concentrations as low as 0.05 μL L −1 . Ethylene induced fruit drop at the junction between the main peduncle and the calyx, at a clear abscission zone. Fruit drop at the junction between calyx and the fruit, however depended on an external force.

Journal of Plant Physiology, 2010
This study investigates whether, and how, polyamines (PAs) are involved in mature fruit abscission of olive (Olea europaea L.). Physiological abscission was studied in relation to the activation of the abscission zone (AZ), located between fruit and peduncle, from two olive cultivars where the breakstrength profiles and the scanning electron ...

Phaseic acid: Occurrence in cotton fruit; Acceleration of abscission
Planta, 1972Phaseic acid was tentatively identified in cotton fruit; this is the second report of its natural occurrence. It was found in cotton fruit of all ages, from very young to fully mature fruit. It accelerates abscission in the excised nodes of cotton seedlings, but has only about one-tenth of the abscission-promoting activity of abscisic acid.

Relation Between Fruit Size and Abscission of Young Orange Fruits
Botanical Gazette, 19271. The percentage loss of moisture from young oranges and grapefruit decreases rapidly as the fruits increase in size. This change doubtless is due largely to the decrease in proportionate surface area as the fruit increases in diameter. 2. Observations on tagged fruits confirm the common knowledge that young citrus fruits readily undergo abscission up

The Role of Ethylene in Abscission of Cling Peach Fruit
Australian Journal of Plant Physiology, 1976Ethylene production was measured in fruit of a number of cling peach cultivars within 1 h of picking. During the period when ethylene production on the tree was rising exponentially, fruit from cultivars with low preharvest drop produced ethylene at much lower rates than fruit from high-drop cultivars.
