Nano-calcium alleviates the cracking of nectarine fruit and improves fruit quality

Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2023
To explore the use of L-aspartic acid nano-calcium (nano-Ca) to reduce nectarine fruit-cracking, we sprayed the crack-susceptible nectarine cultivar 'Huaguang' [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch var. nectarina (Ait.) Maxim.] with nano-Ca. The results showed that nano-Ca could reduce the fruit-cracking percentage of nectarine by more than 20%.

Cuticle cracking in tomato fruit

Journal of Horticultural Science, 1993
The effects of fruit pruning and deleafing practices on fruit cuticle cracking were investigated in greenhouse tomato plants. Three treatments were established: (1) a standard practice of fruit pruning to three or four fruit per truss, with deleafing up to the ripening truss, (2) increased fruit pruning to one or two fruit per truss and deleafed to the

[Fruit cracking: a review].

Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2021
Fruit cracking is a common physiological disease. Many fruits such as tomato, sweet cherry, apple, jujube, pomegranate, and litchi are liable to crack, causing considerable economic loss and agricultural resources waste. The mechanisms of fruit cracking are comprehensive. Some correlations have been observed between susceptibility of fruit cracking and
