Factors in Dehiscence of the Flax Fruit
Botanical Gazette, 19561. A study was made of the mechanism of dehiscence of the capsules in three varieties of flax (Linum usitatissimum L.): Punjab 47, an indehiscent variety; Marine, a semidehiscent one; and Coimbricum (C.I. 761), a completely dehiscent one. 2. Ovary development is the same in all three varieties up to the time of fertilization.

Fruit morphology and dehiscence-related genes were analyzed in dehiscent N4P and dehiscent P12 Bixa orellana accessions. Fruit architecture (exocarp and pericarp cells, trichomes, vascular bundles, vesicles, and bixin cells) documented by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) morphology, blue toluidine stain, and phloroglucinol and hydrochloric acid (PHCL)

Prediction and Sequence Alignment of Fruit Dehiscence-Related Genes in Oilseed Rape
2008 2nd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, 2008Fruit dehiscence for seed dispersal exists broadly in flowering plants including many important crops such as oilseed rape and soybean, which can cause yield reduction and succeeding crops contamination in crop production. Previous studies on model plant Arabidopsis have identified several transcriptional regulators required for fruit dehiscence. These

EVOLUTION OF FRUIT DEHISCENCE IN BRASSICACEAE â EXAMPLES FROM AETHIONEMA AND LEPIDIUM
Acta Horticulturae, 2010Most species of the Brassicaceae develop fruits in which seeds are released through a process termed fruit dehiscence. To provide a phylogenetic perspective for fruit dehiscence, the Arabidopsis model system will be widened here by two other systems from Brassicaceae. Some genera in Brassicaceae develop indehiscent fruits that do not release ripe seeds.

Cytochemistry and ultrastructure of the dehiscence zone of almond (Prunus dulcis) fruits
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1990At maturity, the almond pericarp dehisces along the ventral suture, a region that originates by fusion of epidermal cells and subsequently differentiates into a separation layer. We have characterized the ontogeny of the fusion–dehiscence zone with emphasis on cell wall characteristics by using cytochemical methods for detection of pectin, cutin ...

Light environment in pre- and post-dehiscent fruits affects seed germination in Calotropis procera
Environmental and Experimental Botany, 2008Abstract Fruits in Calotropis procera can be distinguished into five discrete but contiguous stages on the basis of diameter and seed color. Seeds from dehisced fruits at stage V germinated >80% on moist substratum in darkness. This was rather unexpected because the seeds developed and matured in an FR-enriched microenvironment (R:FR ratio ∼0.3) of ...

[Discrimination of the fresh jujube varieties and dehiscent fruit by NIR spectroscopy].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015There are many fresh jujube varieties. The different variety has different quality. In addition, dehiscent fruit easily rot and the rotten fruit contaminated the full fruit very rapidly. It is necessary to discriminate the jujube varieties and dehiscent fruit to reduce the storage loss.
