Effects of nm Reagent on Dehiscent Fruit and Quality of Jujube

Development of the pericarp, septa and zone of dehiscence in the fruit of Cassia tora L.
The pod of Cassia tora is the product of a single carpel consisting of 20-30 seeds enclosed one in each compartment formed by the ingrowth of the endocarpic tissue. There are three distinct histological zones of the pericarp Epicarp (a), Mesocarp (b) and Endocarp (c). The paracytic stomata and uniseriate multicellular trichomes are

This study examines how the fruits of non‐photosynthetic forest plants in the Monotropoideae (Ericaceae) have evolved into the diversity observed today. By analyzing four Asian species, we identified a shift from dry, dehiscent fruits that release seeds into the air to fleshy, berry‐like fruits adapted for animal dispersal.

Tiny, leafless fairy lanterns are easily overlooked on the forest floor. Thismia abei, endemic to Japan, persists in small, unstable populations and is listed nationally as Critically Endangered. Our recent work has revealed another, less obvious form of obscurity.

Study of some abnormalities of ovule development to seed in Pistacia vera L. [PDF]
Seed production in some crops like pistachio is limited by some abnormalities in ovule development stages. In this study, the ovule developmental stages as well as abnormalities of these stages were investigated.

Ants contribute to raspberry pollination in protected cropping systems
Ants visited raspberry flowers more frequently than European honey bees (Apis mellifera), Australian stingless bees (Tetragonula carbonaria) and flies, many transporting raspberry pollen on their bodies, indicating potential pollination capacity. Ants were active flower visitors at most times of the day and may extend the daily pollination window and ...

We extracted pollen from colony beeswax to quantify season‐long, colony‐level resource use and tested how managed Bombus impatiens visitation and Rosaceae pollen collection relate to landscape context and strawberry pollination. Increased managed bumble bee visitation was not influenced by surrounding landcover, did not reduce pollen limitation and ...
