Piecewise Fryze power theory analysis applied to PWM DC–DC converters [PDF]
This study proposes an extension to the well‐known Fryze power theory, which allows the development of a mathematical procedure that defines a global factor for the active and non‐active power processing in pulse‐width modulated (PWM) dc–dc converters. This global factor is the dc power factor.

Control of disturbing loads in residential and commercial buildings via geometric algebra. [PDF]
Many definitions have been formulated to represent nonactive power for distorted voltages and currents in electronic and electrical systems. Unfortunately, no single universally suitable representation has been accepted as a prototype for this power component.

Study of three-phase active power filter operation using non-sinusoidal voltage
The active power filter designed to compensate inactive power components. Aim: The aim of the study is to assess the quality of the three-phase active power filter in the distortion of the mains voltage supply, which is caused by the influence of non ...

Non‐intrusive Load Monitoring Using Gramian Angular Field Color Encoding in Edge Computing
Non‐intrusive load monitoring (NILM) can infer the status of the appliances in operation and their energy consumption by analyzing the energy data collected from monitoring devices. With the rapid increase of electric loads in amount and type, the traditional way of uploading all energy data to cloud is facing enormous challenges.

Determination of Inactive Powers in a Single-Phase AC Network
Based on the development of the theory of reactive power and distortion power, starting with the works of Fryze and Budeanu, it has been found that the contradictions in the definition of the components of inactive powers are caused by errors in the ...

Abstract The deployment of domestic smart metering infrastructure in Great Britain provides the opportunity for identification of home appliances utilising non‐intrusive load monitoring methods. Identifying the energy consumption of certain home appliances generates useful insights for the energy suppliers and for other bodies with a vested interest in

Instantaneous active and reactive load signature applied in non‐intrusive load monitoring systems
Abstract The performance of non‐intrusive load monitoring (NILM) systems heavily depends on the uniqueness of the load signature extracted from the electrical appliances. Different load signatures have been proposed. Recently, in particular, v–i trajectory feature extraction is attracting more and more attention due to its unique characteristics ...
