Optimizing Flood Hazard Zonation and Planning Landscape‐Based Mitigation Measures in Gimba Sub Watersheds, Northeastern Ethiopia: A Comprehensive Approach

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Flooding remains one of the most critical natural hazards threatening livelihoods, infrastructure, and ecological systems in Ethiopia's highland landscapes. This study presents a rigorously integrated, multi‐criteria flood risk assessment that combines the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with GIS‐based spatial modeling to delineate ...

Effect of Concentration of Lithium Bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide on the Performance of Silicon Anodes for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
The rate performance of Si anodes in a 5 M lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide electrolyte (molar ratio of salt to solvent of 1:2.5) is similar to the rate performance of the 1 M electrolyte. However, the solid electrolyte interphase formed in the 5 M electrolyte is less passivating, and for stable, long‐term cycling, limiting the lithiation is necessary.

Triply Responsive Control of Ion Transport with an Artificial Channel Creates a Switchable AND to OR Logic Gate

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.
We report a triply responsive artificial ion channel, showing tuneable activity, and responsive to three distinct stimuli ‐ light, pH, and ligand – which we use to formulate an AND to OR switchable molecular logic gate. Abstract Ion channels are ubiquitous in Nature, performing complex and essential tasks in our bodies. Synthetic chemists have begun to

A LiFSI‐Based Ultralight Electrolyte for Long‐Cycle‐Life and High‐Energy‐Density Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study develops an ultralight LiFSI‐based electrolyte (ULE) with low density and high Li+ conductivity for Li‐S batteries. The LiFSI salt promotes the formation of a LiF‐rich interphase on the Li anode, effectively suppressing polysulfide corrosion. Additionally, its high donor number enhances the capacity of the sulfur cathode.
