Two approaches to phase correction in FT-IR spectroscopy are discussed. Using synthetic data, both the Mertz method and the symmetrization-convolution method are evaluated with respect to the accurate reproduction of a single-beam spectrum. The variation in photometric accuracy with (1) the number of points used in the phase calculation, and (2 ...

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
An internal reflection spectroscopy (IRS) element may be modified by application of thin layers of metal oxides, aramids or carbonised polymers, so that it resembles chemically the surface of reinforcements (eg. glass, carbon, Kevlar) used in the production of reinforced plastics.

FT-IR spectra of glycine oligomers
Vibrational Spectroscopy, 1997Abstract Fourier transform infrared spectra were revisited for glycine oligomers (trimer through hexamer) and polyglycine. Oligomers precipitated from aqueous solutions with acetone existed in the planar zigzag conformation similar to polyglycine I. Infrared spectra for the helical conformation similar to polyglycine II were also obtained for glycine

Chromatography and FT-IR Spectrometry [PDF]
The fact that is is possible to acquire an interferogram in less than one second makes FT-IR spectrometry an excellent technique for studying transient species. By far the most important application of this rapid-scanning property is the on-line identification of peaks eluting from a gas chromatograph (GC/FT-IR).

Universal on-line HPLC/FT-IR and GC/FT-IR direct deposition interface
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1998On-line micro- and semimicro-HPLC/FT-IR interfaces have been developed in our laboratory. These interfaces involve thermospray nebulization of the HPLC effluent and a modification of the Bio-Rad Tracer direct deposition GC/FT-IR interface. The detection limits for on-line narrow-bore HPLC/FT-IR measurements are at the low nanogram level.

FT-IR spectroscopy: a powerful tool in pharmacology
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2002In the present work we report a Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) analysis performed on rat encephalon samples in the CH-OH vibrational stretching region (2400-3800) cm(-1), in order to reveal the presence of a very diffuse commercial benzodiazepine: VALIUM.

The Use of FT-IR Spectroscopy in Microtechnologies
1997Analytical studies accompanying the development of microtechnological production methods can be carried out by means of e.g. FT-IR spectroscopy. The chemical reactions taking place during various dry chemical etching processes of silicon can be observed precisely.
