Clinical and Genetic Profile of One Molecularly Confirmed and One Clinically Suspected Case of LZTR1‐Related Noonan Syndrome

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
This study illustrates the phenotypic variability of LZTR1‐related Noonan syndrome type 10 in two pediatric patients, including presentations without congenital heart defects. The findings emphasize the importance of whole‐exome sequencing and longitudinal re‐evaluation of variants of uncertain significance in achieving accurate diagnosis.

UltRaSoUnd‐guided evaLuAtion of metabolic health in a cohort of midlife women with HIV: The URSULA study

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives We aimed to determine the prevalence of metabolic disorders, liver steatosis and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in a cohort of middle‐aged women with HIV (WoWH) and to explore associations between liver steatosis, visceral fat depots and carotid atherosclerosis.

Assessing Clinical Severity and Prognosis in Adolescents With Anorexia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa Using the Albumin‐Globulin Ratio

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1193-1208, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The albumin‐globulin ratio (AGR) is a biochemical marker reflecting nutritional and inflammatory status, with significant prognostic value in chronic conditions. This study examined its association with clinical/biochemical markers in adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) and atypical AN (AAN).

Predictive Value of FT3/FT4 and Neutrophil‐to‐Lymphocyte Ratios for Post‐Ischemic Stroke Urinary Tract Infection and Their Association With Longitudinal Functional Recovery Trajectories: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
This graphical abstract illustrates how acute ischemic stroke may be accompanied by neuroendocrine‐immune dysregulation, represented by a low FT3/FT4 ratio and a high neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio, which together improve early identification of patients at risk for post‐ischemic stroke urinary tract infection.

Acute Encephalopathy in a Patient With Chronic Isotretinoin Exposure and Frequent Rizatriptan Use: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute encephalopathy in patients with prolonged isotretinoin exposure should prompt careful assessment of undisclosed or non‐prescribed medication use. This case suggests a possible association between high cumulative isotretinoin exposure, frequent daily rizatriptan use, and acute encephalopathy, but does not establish a definitive drug–drug ...

Associations of free triiodothyronine and thyroxine with blood pressure in Chinese coronary artery disease adults

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background Previous evidence regarding the associations of free triiodothyronine (FT3) and free thyroxine (FT4) with blood pressure (BP) were scarce. We aimed to explore the associations of FT3 and FT4 with BP (systolic BP [SBP], diastolic BP [DBP] and ...

Atorvastatin‐Associated Severe Bradyarrhythmia Following Multiorgan Dysfunction: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Statins are the primary treatment for hypercholesterolemia and a cornerstone of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease prevention. Although generally safe, serious adverse effects may occur in selected patients, particularly when statins are used at high doses or without medical supervision.

Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency Presenting With Severe Hyponatremia in an Elderly Patient With Primary Aldosteronism Suggesting Underlying Autonomous Cortisol Secretion

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Possible unrecognized cortisol autonomy in primary aldosteronism may suppress the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis. Under physiological stress, this may contribute to secondary adrenal insufficiency and severe hyponatremia. Clinicians should consider adrenal insufficiency in patients with primary aldosteronism presenting with unexplained ...

Peripheral Thyroid Hormones, Inflammatory and Skeletal Muscle Indexes in Advanced Cervical Cancer Treated With Cemiplimab

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle
Background A low fT3/fT4 ratio has been associated with poorer prognosis in several diseases. Inflammatory indexes (IIs) and the skeletal muscle index (SMI) are established prognostic factors in various cancer types.
