General Synthesis of Amorphous Pd‐Based Nanoparticles Towards Highly Efficient Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A family of amorphous palladium‐based multi‐component phosphides nanoparticles, synthesized via a robust one‐step wet‐chemical method, overcoming the immiscibility of different elements and the difficulty in forming a stable, disordered structure. When applied in the electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction, these nanocatalysts effectively suppress ...

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Analysis of saliva composition in patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS) by FTIR spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2019
This study was performed to evaluate possible changes in saliva composition at the molecular level that can be associated with burning mouth syndrome (BMS). Saliva samples were collected from 14 women with BMS to be analyzed by FT-IR spectroscopy.

The influence of halogen-containing modifier on the thermo-oxidative stability of styrene–butadiene–styrene triblock copolymers

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии
Objectives. Elastomeric materials based on styrene–butadiene–styrene (SBS) triblock copolymers occupy approximately three-quarters of the global thermoplastic elastomer market; in the Russian elastomer market, their share exceeds 80%.

Co‐Electrospinning Extracellular Matrix with Polycaprolactone Enables a Modular Approach to Balance Bioactivity and Mechanics of a Multifunctional Bone Wrap

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Application of FTIR Spectroscopy to Analyze RNA Structure

open access: yes, 2020
Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy has been widely used for the analysis of both protein and nucleic acid secondary structure. This is one of the vibration spectroscopy methods that are extremely sensitive to any change in molecular structure.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

The FTIR spectroscopy as a method of choice for detecting changes in DNA profiles of the mouse embryonic fibroblasts after the treatment with 5-aza

open access: yes, 2019
Double-strand deoxyribonucleic acid (dsDNA) carries the genetic information needed for normal development, growth, survival and reproduction of all living beings (except RNA viruses and other potential DNA-less microorganisms).
