Investigation of Lignins by FTIR Spectroscopy
Macromolecular Symposia, 2008AbstractSummary: Applying special computer mathematical treatments to increase resolution of experimental spectra there were established a set of stable characteristic bands for isolated softwood lignins. In the 740–1620 cm−1 spectral range the band maximum positions did not change but values of bandwidths and peak intensities were varied in limits 15%

Matrix FTIR spectroscopy of transient species
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1989Matrix studies featuring the FTIR instrumental advantages of resolution and sensitivity for a finite amount of time are described. Ammonia clusters have a complicated spectrum in the N–H stretching region. One antisymmetric and two symmetric stretching modes in the dimer verify an asymmetric cyclic dimer structure.1 Chlorine isotopic splittings have ...

Terahertz and FTIR spectroscopy of ‘Bisphenol A’
Journal of Molecular Structure, 2014Abstract Time domain terahertz (0.2–2 THz) and FTIR (400–4000 cm−1) spectra of ‘Bisphenol A’ are presented. An average refractive index of 1.34 from 0.2 to 2 THz and an absorption peak at 1.69 THz that is considered as the twisting of aromatic rings with hydroxyl groups along the shared carbon atom are found.

Secondary Structure of Monoamine Oxidase by FTIR Spectroscopy
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1995The secondary structure of human monoamine oxidase A and bovine monoamine oxidase B has been investigated by Fourier Transform Attenuated Total Reflection Spectroscopy (FTIR ATR). The experimental results are compared for both isoenzymes and the data are incorporated in a statistical attribution of secondary structure of the enzyme describing the ...

In situ FTIR Spectroscopy of Polyaniline
1987The infrared absorption of electrochemically synthesized polyaniline is measured in situ during the electrochemical redox processes in non aqeous electrolytes with Fourier Transform (FTIR) technique. The first oxidation process is associated with a strong increase in the background absorption in addition to vibrational changes due to the benzenoid ...

FTIR Spectroscopy of Buried Interfaces in Molecular Junctions
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004We demonstrate that ATR-FTIR spectroscopy can be used to record high-quality vibrational spectra of molecules at buried interfaces in metal-molecule-silicon and metal-molecule-metal junctions. This provides quantitative information on the structure and conformation of molecules at buried interfaces, an issue of critical importance to molecular ...

FTIR spectroscopy studies of nucleic acid damage
Talanta, 2000Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of RNA isolated from tumour brain (glioma) and DNA isolated from low-dose gamma-irradiated epididymis cells of rats from the Chernobyl accident zone have been investigated in the 700-4000 cm(-1) region. The total absorbed radiation doses were equal to or less than 57 cGy.

Determination of crystallinity of an aliphatic polyester by FTIR spectroscopy
Polymer Bulletin, 2007In this work, FTIR spectroscopy was applied to the determination of crystalline content in an aliphatic polyester. To this goal, a range of wavelengths (from 560 cm-1 to 680 cm-1), non conventional for this kind of polymers, was selected by analyzing spectra collected during isothermal crystallization tests.
