Role of access charges in the migration from copper to FTTH [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider a horizontally and vertically differentiated duopoly model in order to analyze both intra- and inter-platform competition in an always corvered broadband access market (Copper-Copper, Copper-FTTH and FTTH-FTTH competitions).

Ultrahigh‐Speed Fixed Broadband and Rural Development

open access: yesTijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, Volume 114, Issue 5, Page 479-500, December 2023., 2023
Abstract We study the relationship between ultrahigh‐speed broadband coverage (≥100 Mbps) and population change in rural areas. Our goal is to determine whether improved telecommunications infrastructure can help to mitigate rural de‐population. The study focuses on Spain during the years 2013–20, a period when most of the country's broadband network ...

Cryo‐EM single‐particle structure refinement and map calculation using Servalcat

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1282-1291, October 2021., 2021
A new program, Servalcat, to facilitate atomic model refinement in cryo‐EM single‐particle analysis is presented. It implements a refinement pipeline using REFMAC5 and Fo − Fc map calculation. In 2020, cryo‐EM single‐particle analysis achieved true atomic resolution thanks to technological developments in hardware and software.

Pasyviosios magistralės panaudojimas optinės prieigos tinkluose

open access: yesMokslo Taikomieji Tyrimai Lietuvos Kolegijose, 2023
Interneto plėtra neatsiejama nuo informacijos perdavimo spartos didinimo tarp kompiuterių tinklo įrenginių, signalų perdavimui panaudojant optinius kabelius, kuriuose gali būti kelios dešimtys ar keli šimtai optinių skaidulų. Atskira optine skaidula, tuo

Analysis of the radiated electric field strength from in‐house G.fast2 data carrying wire‐line telecommunication network

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 15, Issue 5, Page 478-485, July 2021., 2021
Abstract G.fast profile 212a technology is the perfect choice for an operator offering a broadband service, as it operates using the existing copper telecommunications infrastructure (cables) already installed in user premises. Unfortunately, such telecommunications infrastructure is not designed to transmit data at high frequencies used by G.fast ...

Novel failure mechanism of nanoscale mesa‐type avalanche photodiodes under harsh environmental stresses

open access: yesIET Nanodielectrics, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 21-26, March 2021., 2021
Abstract Avalanche photodiode (APD) is an indispensable receiver component because of its high bandwidth and low noise performance. Recently, APD reliability, under harsh environmental stresses such as high heat and humidity, has drawn great interest in the applications of passive optical network, wireless, military, and free space optics.
