On some problems with nonlocal integral condition

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2010
We study the second order nonlinear boundary value problems with non‐local integral conditions and construct the Fučík type spectrum for these problems.

Periodic solutions of nonlinear vibrating beams

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2003, Issue 14, Page 823-841, 2003., 2003
The aim of this paper is to prove new existence and multiplicity results for periodic semilinear beam equation with a nonlinear time‐independent perturbation in case the period is not prescribed. Since the spectrum of the linear part varies with the period, the solvability of the equation depends crucially on the period which can be chosen as a free ...

Sign‐changing and multiple solutions for the p‐Laplacian

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 7, Issue 12, Page 613-625, 2002., 2002
We obtain a positive solution, a negative solution, and a sign‐changing solution for a class of p‐Laplacian problems with jumping nonlinearities using variational and super‐subsolution methods.

Solvability of a one-dimensional quasilinear problem under nonresonance conditions on the potential

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2009
Problem of the type $-\Delta_{p}u=f(u)+h(x) \textrm{ in } (a, b) $ with $u=0$ on $ \{a,b\} $ is solved under nonresonance conditions stated with respect to the first eigenvalue and the first curve in the Fučik spectrum of $(-\Delta_{p},W_{0}^{1,p}(a,b))$,

On an asymptotically linear elliptic Dirichlet problem

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 7, Issue 10, Page 509-516, 2002., 2002
Under very simple conditions, we prove the existence of one positive and one negative solution of an asymptotically linear elliptic boundary value problem. Even for the resonant case at infinity, we do not need to assume any more conditions to ensure the boundness of the (PS) sequence of the corresponding functional. Moreover, the proof is very simple.

On Solvability of the Damped Fučík Type Problem with Integral Condition

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2014
The solvability results are established for the boundary value problem with a damping term , x(0) = 0, where x + = max{x, 0}, x - = max{-x, 0}, h is a bounded nonlinearity, µ, λ real parameters.

UN EJEMPLO DEL ESPECTRO DE FUCIK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014

The Beginning of the Fučik Spectrum for the p-Laplacian

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1999
Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), \(N\geq 1\) and let \(p\) be a real number greater than \(1\). The Fučik spectrum of the \(p\)-Laplacian \(\Delta_p=\operatorname {div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)\) on \(W^{1,p}_0(\Omega)\) is defined as the set \(\Sigma_p\) of pairs \((\alpha,\beta)\in \mathbb{R}^2\) such that the Dirichlet ...
