Effects of time delay on excited quarter- and half-car models with jumping nonlinearities. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Nonlinear vehicle dynamics are omnipresent and significantly affect driving performance and safety. Jumping vehicles, in particular, exhibit strong nonlinearities that can lead to severe vibrations and steering instabilities.

Multiplicity results for p-Laplacian boundary value problem with jumping nonlinearities

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
We investigate the multiplicity of solutions for one-dimensional p-Laplacian Dirichlet boundary value problem with jumping nonlinearities. We obtain three theorems: The first states that there exists exactly one solution when nonlinearities cross no ...

Bifurcations for a problem with jumping nonlinearities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2002
Summary: A bifurcation problem for the equation \[ \Delta u+\lambda u-\alpha u^++\beta u^-+g(\lambda ,u)=0 \] in a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R ^N\) with mixed boundary conditions, given nonnegative functions \(\alpha ,\beta \in L_\infty \) and a small perturbation \(g\) is considered.

Nonlinear Filtering for Jump Diffusion Observations [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Probability, 2012
We deal with the filtering problem of a general jump diffusion process,X, when the observation process,Y, is a correlated jump diffusion process having common jump times withX. In this setting, at any timetthe σ-algebraprovides all the available information aboutXt, and the central goal is to characterize the filter, πt, which is the conditional ...

A Nonlinear Wave Equation with Jumping Nonlinearity

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems, 1998
The authors study multiplicity of solutions \(u(x,t)\) for a piecewise linear perturbation of the one-dimensional wave operator \(u_{tt}-u_{xx}\) under Dirichlet boundary condition on the interval \((-{\pi\over 2}, {\pi\over 2})\) and periodic condition on \(t\), that is \[ \begin{cases} u_{tt}-u_{xx}+g (u)=f(x,t) \text{ in }\left(-{\pi\over 2}, {\pi ...

Fractional N-Laplacian boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearities in the fractional Orlicz–Sobolev spaces

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2021
We investigate the multiplicity of solutions for problems involving the fractional N-Laplacian. We obtain three theorems depending on the source terms in which the nonlinearities cross some eigenvalues. We obtain these results by direct computations with

Frog-inspired jumping robot actuated by pneumatic muscle actuators

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
Jumping robots can be widely applied in archeology, interstellar probe, antiterrorism, and resource exploration. This article adopts the frog as the bionic object and briefly analyzes biological features and jumping movements in a complete jumping ...

A Class of Stochastic Nonlinear Delay System with Jumps [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
We consider stochastic suppression and stabilization for nonlinear delay differential system. The system is assumed to satisfy local Lipschitz condition and one-side polynomial growth condition. Since the system may explode in a finite time, we stochastically perturb this system by introducing independent Brownian noises and Lévy noise feedbacks.
