Digital Twin of a One‐Sun‐Driven Luminescent‐Concentrator‐Assisted Planar Solar‐Pumped Fiber Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 30, 14 August 2026.
An experimentally‐validated digital twin of a one‐sun solar‐pumped fiber laser enables a design exhibit 13‐times higher output power at 1064 nm to be achieved. Despite its simple appearance, the multitude of choices in the design parameters make finding this improved very tedious in the lab, thus the digital twin can save significant time and effort ...

Simulation research on the blister evolution behaviors of UMo/Zr monolithic fuel elements

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
Blister behavior is one of the main failure modes of UMo/Zr monolithic fuel elements during irradiation. The temperature of fuel elements may increase greatly so that the fuel elements may be destroyed.

In Situ Preparation of Ti2Ni/NiTi Dual‐Phase Alloy With High Wear Resistance and Damping Performance by Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Many metallic components are frequently subjected to coupled environments of friction and vibration, stemming from interfacial contact and relative motion between mating parts or external stimuli. Consequently, it is imperative for these components to exhibit a synergy of high wear resistance and superior damping properties.

Clad thickness variation N-Reactor fuel elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
The current specifications for the cladding on {open_quotes}N{close_quotes} fuels were established early in the course of process development and were predicted on several basic considerations. Among these were: (a) a desire to provide an adequate safety factor in cladding thickness to insure against corrosion penetration and rupture from uranium ...

Methodology for numerical evaluation of fracture resistance under pinch loading of spent nuclear fuel cladding containing reoriented hydrides

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
It is important to maintain cladding integrity in spent nuclear fuel management. This study proposes a numerical analysis method to evaluate the fracture resistance of irradiated zirconium alloy cladding under pinch load known to cause Mode-III failure ...

ZIRFLEX DISSOLUTION OF THE ANNULAR CLADDING OF SIMULATED POWER FUEL ELEMENTS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1959
A study was conducted to compare the estimated dissolution rate of Zircaloy-2 clad annular fuel elements on the fully expesed metal with that in the annuli. Results indicate that decladding of these elements should proceed uniformly on all surfaces. Heat balance data from the study are also reported. (J.R.D.)
