Full-color computational holographic near-eye display

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2019
Near-eye displays (NEDs) are an excellent candidate for the future of augmented reality. Conventional micro-display based NED designs mostly provide stereoscopic 3D experience, which leads to visual discomfort due to vergence-accommodation conflict ...

Measurable Residual Disease Monitoring During Treatment for Pediatric Acute Myeloid Leukemia in First Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survival after relapse in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains poor, highlighting the critical importance of identifying prognostic factors to guide optimal relapse management. Methods We investigated the prognostic impact of multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) measurable residual disease (MRD) in 188 patients with first ...

Misperception of Body Weight After Childhood Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Misperception of body weight can negatively impact the weight management efforts of childhood cancer survivors (CCSs). Both being overweight or underweight are associated with chronic health conditions commonly observed in CCS; therefore, accurate weight perception is critical for reducing long‐term health risks.

Full Color Holographic Endoscopy

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2013
The ability to produce color holograms from the human tissue represents a major medical advance, specifically in the areas of diagnosis and teaching. This has been achieved at Glyndwr University. In corporation with partners at Gooch & Housego, Moor Instruments, Vivid Components and peninsula medical school, Exeter, UK, for the first time, we have ...

Development and Implementation of a Disease‐Targeted Storybook as a Clinical Tool for Children With Acute Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Although significant progress has been made in childhood leukemia survival, healthcare providers, and caregivers often face challenges in explaining this disease to patients. Disease‐targeted storybooks have been proposed as a tool to facilitate the understanding of diagnoses and treatment.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
