Full-Color MicroLEDs for Display Technologies

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2020
Red, green, and blue InGaN/AlGaN nanowire micro-light-emitting diodes (pLEDs) grown on a silicon substrate by molecular beam epitaxy with diameters from 20 to 100pm present stable emissions in the visible spectra, promising for microLED displays.

Full color waveguide liquid crystal display

Optics Letters, 2017
We developed a waveguide liquid crystal display from a liquid crystal (LC)/polymer composite. It does not need polarizers or color filters. It is illuminated by color LEDs installed on its edge. The light produced by the edge LEDs is coupled into the display and then waveguided through the display.

Toward Full-Color Electroluminescent Quantum Dot Displays

Nano Letters, 2020
Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) exhibit unique characteristics such as facile color tunability, pure color emission with extremely narrow bandwidths, high luminescence efficiency, and high photostability. In addition, quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) feature bright electroluminescence, low turn-on voltage, and ultrathin form factor, making them a

Toward full-color LEP displays

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
New device performance data are reported for red, green, blue and white polymer light emitting diodes (PLED). The devices all show CIE color co-ordinates approaching the PAL standards. In this report we also discuss the efficiency and lifetime data for these test devices and show that these systems could be used as components in full/multi color high ...

Full‐color organic EL display

Journal of the Society for Information Display, 1998
Abstract— For the first time, we report a full‐color organic display with 10‐in. diagonal and high resolution (VGA). This display was based on blue organic EL with color‐changing mediums (CCM). A blue‐emitting material with heat resistance was developed and used.

Full-Color Single Nanowire Pixels for Projection Displays

Nano Letters, 2016
Multicolor single InGaN/GaN dot-in-nanowire light emitting diodes (LEDs) were fabricated on the same substrate using selective area epitaxy. It is observed that the structural and optical properties of InGaN/GaN quantum dots depend critically on nanowire diameters.

Organic LED Full Color Passive‐Matrix Display

SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 1999
Abstract A full color 5.2 inch 1/4VGA passive‐matrix organic LED display has been developed adopting selective deposition for the different emitting materials. The display features 320 (× 3) × 240 pixels with an equivalent pixel size of 0.33 × 0.33 mm 2 white peak luminance ...

MATERIALS FOR FULL-COLOR ELECTROLUMINESCENT DISPLAYS

Annual Review of Materials Science, 1997
▪ Abstract  New thin-film electroluminescent (EL) materials with blue and broadband emissions recently have been developed that meet the phosphor requirements for commercial multicolor and full-color EL display products. Improvements have been achieved in phosphor luminance, luminous efficiency, emission color, and aging characteristics.

Full-color tabletop light-field display

Imaging and Applied Optics 2016, 2016
We suggested a table top display system using a digital micromirror device (DMD) last year. We improve our system as a full-color table top display using three DMDs and total internal reflection (TIR) prism. This system has some benefits that images are floating on the screen due to off-axis projection geometry and full-color images are displayed by ...
