FD-UWA: Full-Duplex Underwater Acoustic Comms via Self-Interference Cancellation in Space

open access: closed2020 IEEE 17th International Conference on Mobile Ad Hoc and Sensor Systems (MASS), 2020
Traditionally, underwater acoustic communications is half duplex, i.e., the hydrophones and transducers operate in non-overlapping time-slots/frequency-bands in one direction at a time or frequency. To double the spectral efficiency and allow simultaneous transmission and reception in Full-Duplex mode (FD), a Self-Interference Cancellation (SIC ...

Full Duplex Multiuser MIMO MAC Protocol (FD-MUMAC)

open access: closedGLOBECOM 2020 - 2020 IEEE Global Communications Conference, 2020
A new medium access control (MAC) protocol for full-duplex multiuser multi input multi output (FD-MUMAC) is proposed. FD-MUMAC is an 802.11 infrastructure-based MAC protocol where the communication in the network is moderated by a full-duplex access point (AP) that can handle multiple simultaneous uplink and downlink streams from half-duplex users.

S-CW FD: A MAC protocol for full-duplex in wireless local area networks

open access: closed2016 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2016
With the emergence of self-interference cancellation techniques, wireless full-duplex communication at the same frequency channel and time slot has become possible. The gain of full-duplex communication over half-duplex depends on the success of self-interference cancellation or the amount of residual self-interference.

Digital Filter and Forward Full Duplex (FF-FD) Relay: Exploiting the Loop Back Signal

open access: closedIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2018
In this paper, we propose a novel digital filter-and-forward full-duplex (FF-FD) relaying system to exploit the loop-back signal (LBS). Unlike treating the LBS as a generic interference, we utilize the fact that the LBS actually conveys redundant information from the source to the destination in the relaying communication scenarios. Thus, the LBS could

FD2: A directional full duplex communication system for indoor wireless networks

open access: closed2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM), 2015
We present the design and implementation of FD2, a directional full-duplex (FD) communication system for indoor wireless networks. An FD2 AP uses directional transmit and receive antennas to reduce self-interference, and to combat AP-AP and client-client interferences that arise due to FD operation in multi-cell networks.

Integrated CMOS transceivers design towards flexible full duplex (FD) and frequency division duplex (FDD) systems

open access: closed2018 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC), 2018
This paper provides an overview of both the challenges and the current state-of-the-art in the areas of full duplex (FD) and frequency division duplex (FDD) integrated transceivers. Implementation hurdles in the form of the linearity, noise, bandwidth (BW) and power of transmitter (TX) self-interference (SI) cancellation circuitry are explored.
