Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Research Progress on Color Image Quality Assessment

open access: yesJournal of Imaging
Image quality assessment (IQA) aims to measure the consistency between an objective algorithm output and a subjective perception measurement. This article focuses on this complex relationship in the context of color image scenarios—color image quality ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

A SURVEY ON FULL REFERENCE IMAGE QUALITY ASSESSMENT ALGORITHMS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2013
Image quality measurement is very important for var ious image processing applications such as recognit ion, retrieval, classification, compression, restoration and similar fields. The im ages may contain different types of distortions lik e blur, noise, contrast change etc. So it is essential to rate the image quality approp riately.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Perceptual Error Logarithm: An Efficient and Effective Analytical Method for Full-Reference Image Quality Assessment

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, we propose a new perceptual analytical method for full-reference image assessment. Techniques used in multimedia applications often introduce distortions, which can significantly degrade image and video quality.

Adaptation of Full-Reference Image Quality Assessment Methods for Automatic Visual Evaluation of the Surface Quality of 3D Prints

open access: yesElektronika ir Elektrotechnika, 2019
Automatic visual quality assessment of the 3D printed surfaces is currently one of the most demanding challenges in additive manufacturing. Regardless of the applications of the computer vision for the 3D printing process monitoring purposes, a reliable ...
