Allozyme variation in populations, full-sib families and selfed lines in Betula pendula Roth
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1996Changes in genetic variability in populations (stand origins), full-sib (FS) families and three generations of selfed lines of Betula pendula were observed based on 15 allozyme loci. Growth vigour, measured as stem volume, and its relationship with heterozygosity was studied to determine the effect of inbreeding.

A plant's capability to develop ectomycorrhizal symbiosis is under the control of both genetic and environmental factors. In order to determine the roles played by these different factors, we have performed a quantitative genetic analysis of the ability of poplar trees to form ectomycorrhizas.

Selection of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) full-sib families from diverse landraces
Journal of Applied Research on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, 2019Abstract Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) is one of the most important culinary and aromatic plants in Iran. Surprisingly, no commercial cultivar is available across the country and farmers are cultivating landraces. The main purpose of the present study was to describe the diversity among and within landraces of sweet basil as well as developing new ...

Phenotypic plasticity of bud set process in a P. nigra full-sib family.
2011Riassunto: Phenological process of bud set is of paramount importance for local adaptation and permits the trees of the temperate zones to survive cold winters. Even if photoperiod is widely accepted to be the main environmental signal for bud set in poplars, the timing of bud formation is also influenced by other factors such as temperature, nutrition
