The Definition of the Load Spectrum for SU-22 Fighter-Bomber Full Scale Fatigue Test

open access: yesFatigue of Aircraft Structures, 2015
The Su-22 fighter-bomber is a military aircraft used in the Polish Air Force since the mid 1980’s. By the decision of the Polish Ministry of Defense the predicted service life for this type of aircraft will be extended to 3200 flight hours.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Characterisation of a resonant bending fatigue setup for pipes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper discusses the resonant bending fatigue test setup designed at laboratory Soete for full-scale fatigue tests on pipes. Following an enumeration of other types of fatigue test setups an attempt is made to characterise the resonant bending ...

Development of a fretting-fatigue mapping concept: The effect of material properties and surface treatments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Fretting-fatigue induced by combined localized cyclic contact motion and external bulk fatigue loadings may result in premature and dramatic failure of the contacting components.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Discussion of Speeding Up Fatigue Test of Full-Scale Aircraft

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
The full-scale aircraft fatigue test is a critical assessment and validation of the fatigue and damage tolerance design of new aircraft models, and it is also a prerequisite for obtaining the type certification for an aircraft.

Review and classification of fretting fatigue test rigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
There is no standard or generally accepted test rig for fretting fatigue experiments. Therefore, researchers adopt an existing concept, or build a new test rig that meets their specific requirements.

Fluid and Neuroimaging Biomarkers in Microgliopathy Colony‐Stimulating Factor‐1 Receptor‐Related Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aims to identify both fluid and neuroimaging biomarkers for CSF1R‐RD that can inform the optimal timing of treatment administration to maximize therapeutic benefit, while also providing sensitive quantitative measurements to monitor disease progression.

Design of a fretting fatigue test rig with compliant springs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fretting is a small amplitude oscillatory movement which occurs between contacting bodies who are subjected to cyclic loading or vibrations. In the contact area arise stresses -normal and tangential- causing stress concentrations and surface degradation.
