Conceptual design and full‐scale experimentation of cladding panel connection systems of precast buildings

Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 2017
SummaryDespite the long series of European research projects that has led to the setting of fully reliable seismic design criteria for precast structures, recent earthquakes have shown that a weak point still exists in the proportioning of the connection systems of cladding wall panels.

Fatigue Test on a Full Scale Panel

Key Engineering Materials, 2006
Fatigue test on a full scale panel with complex loading and geometry has been carried out by using a tri-axial test machine located in the laboratory of the University of Naples. The aeronautical test panel was designed and manufactured by Alenia. The demonstrator is made up of two parts which are linked by a transversal joint that is parallel to the ...

Full-scale testing of fuselage panels

2001 IEEE Autotestcon Proceedings. IEEE Systems Readiness Technology Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37237), 2002
A unique state-of-the-art facility to assess the structural integrity of aircraft fuselage structure was established at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center. The Full-Scale Aircraft Structural Test Evaluation and Research (FASTER) facility is capable of testing full-scale fuselage panel specimens under conditions

Mechanical performance of full-scale Pompeii-like masonry panels

Construction and Building Materials, 2020
Abstract Designing suitable structural interventions to preserve ancient masonry structures subjected to seismic activity requires a comprehensive and interdisciplinary knowledge of traditional building techniques. The mechanical properties of materials and the shear behaviour of masonry walls are essential parameters to design suitable interventions

Full-scale experimental testing of Structural Concrete Insulated Panels (SCIPs)

IABSE Congress Reports, 2021
<p>Structural Concrete Insulated Panels (SCIPs) are relatively new addition to construction industry. SCIPs have previously been used in construction of residential, commercial, and military structures. Despite applications overseas and a few in the United States, SCIPs have still remained a relatively unknown construction methodology among ...

Full-scale tests on soilbag-constructed retaining walls with a panel

Geosynthetics International, 2023
In this study, full-scale tests were conducted on soilbag-constructed retaining walls (SBWs) with panels to analyse the effects of the fixed forms of the panels on the deformation and lateral earth pressures of the wall. The results show that a panel in front of an SBW affects its performance.

Fatigue Behaviour of Full Scale Flat Stiffened Aeronautic Panels

Key Engineering Materials, 2014
This paper concerns the experimental characterization of static and fatigue strength of a flat panel stiffened by bonded pad made of aluminum alloy. The panels were full scale and tested under both static and fatigue loads, applied by means of an in house designed and built multi-axial static and fatigue machine.

Full-Scale Implementation and Testing of Full-Depth Precast Bridge Deck Panels

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2015
A bridge deck panel system using nonprestressed full-depth precast concrete bridge deck panels with continuous shear pockets was investigated. First, the research team performed conceptual improvement, design, detailing, and fabrication studies on a specific deck replacement system (System CD-2) previously proposed by NCHRP Project 12-65 researchers ...
