Sandwich Panel Performance in Full‐scale and Bench‐scale Fire Tests
Fire and Materials, 1997Fire hazard assessments must be primarily driven by life safety variables. Concern is often highly focused on toxicity issues, since fire deaths, in the majority of cases, are found (in whole or in part) to be due to toxic gas inhalation. Procedures have recently been published by ISO, wherein the toxicity assessment of fire products is focused ...

Flexural Behavior of Full-Scale Composite Structural Insulated Floor Panels
Advanced Composite Materials, 2011Panelized systems are prefabricated components that are brought to a construction site and assembled into the finished structure. Traditional constructions are often subjected to termite attack, mold buildups and have poor penetration resistance against wind-borne debris.

Full Scale Testing of Precast Concrete Sandwich Panels
ACI Structural Journal, 1997This paper describes newly developed precast concrete sandwich panels. The panels use a new system of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) connectors, developed at the University of Nebraska's Center for Infrastructure Research, for transferring shear forces from one concrete wythe to the other The use of FRP as the connector material increases the thermal ...

Structural behavior and modeling of full-scale composite structural insulated wall panels
Engineering Structures, 2012Abstract This paper investigates the structural behavior of a new type of Composite Structural Insulated Panels (CSIPs) for load-bearing wall applications. The proposed composite panel is made of low cost orthotropic thermoplastic glass/polypropylene (glass-PP) laminate as a facesheet and Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS) as a core.

Stabilisation of continuous Z-purlins by sandwich panels: Full scale experimental approach
Thin-Walled Structures, 2014Abstract The sandwich panel roof supported by continuously connected thin-walled cold-formed Z-purlins with overlapping over intermediate supports is a practical case of very frequent use. Among the two possible directions of investigation mentioned in the code when studying torsional/distortional instability of Z-purlins (i.e.

Concrete Flow in Diaphragm Wall Panels: A Full-Scale In-Situ Test
2015Flow processes, taking place during the concreting of diaphragm wall panels (D-wall panels), are of great importance for the quality of the wall. During this phase, the bentonite, present in the excavated trench, should be completely replaced by concrete in a controlled way.

Live-Load and Shear Connection Testing of Full-Scale Precast Bridge Panels
Journal of Bridge Engineering, 2013This paper describes an investigation to quantify the behavior of a precast deck system. As part of this investigation, a live-load test was performed on a steel I-girder bridge made with accelerated bridge construction precast deck panels. It was found that the bridge was behaving compositely in some locations and noncompositely in others.
